Computational Design Engineer

About the Role

As a Computational Design Engineer, you will contribute to advanced product development projects at the intersection of engineering and artificial intelligence. Your role will focus on building and deploying end-to-end design workflows for aerospace, automotive, and consumer applications, with the objective of significantly reducing development lead times, improving performance and lightweighting, while ensuring manufacturability and cost efficiency.

You will work with industry-standard CAD and CAE tools such as CATIA and Ansys, combined with our proprietary AI-driven generative design platform, Cognitive Design. You will be involved both in hands-on engineering projects and in the continuous improvement of our internal methodologies and automation pipelines.

Responsibilities

• Developing and executing design workflows integrating CAD, simulation (FEA/CFD), and AI-driven optimization
• Generating and refining innovative design concepts using generative design approaches
• Performing structural, thermal, and/or fluid simulations and interpreting results with engineering judgment
• Ensuring designs meet manufacturability constraints (additive manufacturing, casting, machining, etc.)
• Collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality engineering solutions
• Contributing to the evolution of Cognitive Design workflows and automation strategies

Profile

• Master’s degree (Bac+5) in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or a related field
• 1–5 years of experience in engineering design and simulation (a first significant experience is required; internships count)
• Strong background in structural, thermal, and/or fluid systems
• Proficiency with CAD and CAE tools; experience with CATIA and Ansys is highly preferred
• Ability to quickly learn and adapt to new engineering tools and methodologies
• Strong analytical and critical thinking skills for validating simulation results
• Good understanding of manufacturing processes such as additive manufacturing, die casting, machining, sheet metal forming, or injection molding
• Interest in AI, generative design, and design automation (prior exposure is a plus)
• Fluency in English is required; French is a plus
