Role Overview
As an Assistant Project Manager, you will play a critical role in supporting the successful execution of construction projects from start to finish. You will work closely with Project Managers, field teams, and subcontractors to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and in compliance with safety and quality standards. This role is ideal for a detail‑oriented professional looking to grow into a Project Manager position within a fast‑paced heavy civil construction environment.
Requirements
Required Qualifications
- 2+ years of experience in construction, project coordination, or related field
- Strong understanding of construction processes and project lifecycle
- Ability to read and interpret construction plans and specifications
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
- Strong organizational and time management skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field
- Experience in heavy civil, sitework, or utility construction
- Familiarity with project management or construction software (e.g., Procore, HCSS, Bluebeam)
- Knowledge of scheduling tools and basic cost tracking
What You’ll Do
Project Coordination & Execution
- Assist Project Managers in planning, scheduling, and executing construction projects
- Coordinate with field teams to ensure work is progressing according to schedule and scope
- Support subcontractor coordination and communication
Cost Control & Documentation
- Assist with tracking project costs, budgets, and forecasts
- Process purchase orders, invoices, and subcontractor payments
- Maintain accurate project documentation, logs, and reports
Communication & Collaboration
- Participate in project meetings, including pre‑construction and progress meetings
- Communicate effectively with clients, vendors, and internal teams
- Support issue resolution and ensure timely follow‑up on action items
Compliance & Safety Support
- Promote and uphold company safety standards and jobsite compliance
- Assist in ensuring all project documentation meets regulatory and company requirements
- Support quality control and project closeout processes
