Job Description

Responsible for construction management, safety, and quality on capital projects (retrofit/expansion of existing facilities, clean room installation, and equipment installation for semiconductor R&D cleanrooms) managed by a general contractor. Project budget ≈ $25 million; 8‑month schedule. On‑site presence required to coordinate daily with contractors and safety/quality personnel.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee construction sites, general contractors, and workers to ensure a high level of safety and quality, with a goal of zero safety incidents on all projects.
  • Partner with safety and quality managers to address and resolve safety and quality concerns; coordinate with the contractor, EHS, and the project team to ensure timely reporting of incidents and near misses; participate in investigations, develop corrective actions, and verify their effectiveness.
  • Manage day‑to‑day coordination of construction activities, ensuring contractor efficiency.
  • Ensure all work is performed in accordance with approved project specifications and procedures; identify deviations from plans and implement corrective actions as required.
  • Coordinate Change Management with Project Management—review contractor justifications, estimates, and complete change order negotiations for review and approval by project stakeholders.
  • Review and manage the progress of contractors’ construction schedules in coordination with project management.
  • Review weekly and monthly reports on contract status and progress, including project costs and potential changes, in coordination with project management.
  • Coordinate project updates, including safety and quality meetings as needed.
  • Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to ensure seamless project coordination
  • Support the general contractor’s permitting efforts, including coordination between the engineer of record and the authority having jurisdiction, as well as coordination of all required building inspections.
  • Conduct quality assurance inspections during and after completion of work to ensure compliance with customer‑specific requirements
  • Support the project on‑boarding process for contractors, their crews and other team members
  • Drive the safety program, including incident and near‑miss investigation, root‑cause analysis, and corrective‑action tracking and verification; coordinate with the contractor, EHS, and project team to ensure timely closure and documentation.
  • Provide KPI information (construction hours, safety metrics, etc.) and construction progress reporting to project management per an internally agreed cadence.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Education, Experience, and Licensing Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, construction management, architecture, or a related discipline, or equivalent experience.
  • 10+ years of experience as a construction manager with experience across commercial building construction, clean room construction, and installation of chemical production processes.
  • Proficiency with MS Office Suite.
  • OSHA 30 certification (minimum).
  • Experience interpreting ASME, ACI, Building Construction and Owner Standards and Procedures.
  • Experience with accident investigations and reports.
  • First Aid and CPR Certification.
