The Role

We are on the lookout for an innovative and results-oriented Construction Engineering Manager who will lead the way in developing and executing cutting-edge construction designs, planning strategies, and project executions. In this strategic capacity, you will manage a high-achieving team of engineers and planners tasked with delivering scalable, secure, and groundbreaking technical solutions for expansive infrastructure and telecommunications projects. With your extensive construction expertise and enthusiasm for adopting modern technologies and sustainable practices, you will collaborate closely with product, engineering, and business stakeholders to ensure that our architectural decisions meet business objectives and adhere to contemporary technology standards.

Main Responsibilities

• Lead a diverse team of engineers, project managers, and solution architects.
• Define and implement a strategic roadmap for innovation in construction engineering that aligns with business and product objectives.
• Encourage a culture of innovation, cooperation, and engineering excellence, focused on continuous improvement, energy efficiency, durability, timeliness, and safety.
• Identify and evaluate new construction methods, materials, and technologies, including modular construction and advanced design methods.
• Collaborate with research and development teams, technology vendors, and academic institutions to test and scale innovative solutions.
• Promote the use of digital tools such as Building Information Modeling (BIM) and AI‑enhanced project analytics.
• Provide technical oversight on complex construction scope, architecture creation (A&E), and construction drawing (CD) creation.
• Ensure adherence to engineering standards, safety protocols, and sustainability targets.
• Manage the design and project release of engineering packages, ensuring extra contractors are available to manage increases in project volume.
• Ensure technical review and guidance on ongoing projects, including directing contractor operations as needed.
• Review site deficiencies and plan for necessary corrections.
• Address engineering bottlenecks caused by project complexity and volume.
• Deliver comprehensive engineering packages for all active projects.
• Validate project engineering against the finalized structure.
• Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to gauge the impact of innovative solutions.
• Oversee engineering documentation to speed up and standardize project closeout packages, ensuring all deliverables are accurately completed.
• Advocate for design integrity and long‑term scalability in collaborative initiatives.
• Effectively communicate technical concepts and business values to diverse audiences.
• Transform high‑level technological solutions into actionable engineering strategies.
• Develop internal capabilities by working with peer training groups to enhance documentation, mentorship, and hands‑on technical leadership.

What We Look For in a Candidate

Required

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil/Electrical/Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, or a related discipline.
• A minimum of 7 years of experience in construction engineering, including at least 3 years in a leadership role.
• A proven track record of implementing innovative construction solutions and technologies.
• A strong grasp of construction codes, safety standards, and project delivery methods.
• Exceptional leadership, communication, and teamwork skills.

Preferred

• Professional Engineer (PE) license or equivalent certification.
• Experience with Lean Construction, Integrated Project Delivery (IPD), or Design‑Build methodologies.
• Familiarity with sustainability frameworks and carbon reduction strategies.
• Knowledge of digital construction platforms.

Compensation

The expected salary range for this position, based on current national data, is between $103,711 – $152,109, depending on location and individual qualifications. Lumen also provides a comprehensive benefits package aimed at supporting your health, life, and wellbeing.
