About the role

Responsibilities:

• Oversee and direct construction projects from conception to completion. • Review the project in-depth to schedule deliverables and estimate costs. • Oversee all onsite and offsite constructions to monitor compliance with required standard. • Coordinate and direct construction workers and subcontractors • Select tools, materials and equipment and track inventory. • Meet contractual conditions of performance. • Review the work progress on a daily basis. • Prepare internal and external reports pertaining to job status. • Plan ahead to prevent problems and resolve any emerging ones. • Analyse, manage and mitigate risks. • Ensure quality construction standards and the use of proper construction techniques. • Liaise with the client, other construction professionals and, sometimes, members of the public • Review engineering surveys for the selected roads and other structures • Make any necessary changes to the design drawings as per the site conditions. • Review the work programmes, resource, schedule, and project implementation plans and ensure compliance with the work plans and complete the work within the specified time frame. • Assess and evaluate performance and resources. • Supervise and overseeing the direction of the project (or a package), ensuring that specifications and requirements are met, reviewing progress. • Make safety inspections and ensure construction and site safety

Requirements:

• At least 10 years of experience and in-depth knowledge of road construction with the construction of concrete drains, culverts, paved roads etc, • Ability to use surveying instruments and interpret survey data. • B.Eng. in civil engineering • COREN registered.
