About

We are looking to recruit a competent and hands-on Construction Manager to oversee site activities across our petrochemical and general construction projects. The ideal candidate must be organised, safety-focused, and capable of coordinating multi-disciplinary teams in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee daily site construction activities, ensuring full compliance with safety regulations, quality standards, and permit-to-work procedures.
• Independently complete Risk Assessments, Method Statements, and other HSE documentation.
• Manage and coordinate the construction team, including supervisors, team leaders, and subcontractors.
• Prepare and submit daily site progress reports, ensuring all project documentation is accurate and up to date.
• Interpret engineering drawings, technical specifications, and project plans.
• Plan, schedule, and monitor construction progress against project timelines and milestones.
• Coordinate with engineering, HSE, and project management teams to resolve on-site technical issues, delays, or constraints.
• Order, control, and manage site materials, tools, and equipment.
• Attend and conduct site meetings with engineers, clients, and project stakeholders.
• Demonstrate strong BOQ understanding, including quantity verification and tracking.

Minimum Requirements

• At least 2 years’ experience in construction or site management roles.
• Valid Code 8 driver’s licence.
• Strong communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
• Advantageous: Experience working on petrochemical or industrial projects, and HSE or construction-related certifications.

Candidate needs to reside in Cape Town.
