About the role
Background
For the Construction Site Services department at the Kaiseraugst site, we are looking for an experienced professional in the fields of construction site coordination, plant construction, pipeline construction, and utility engineering.
The Operate and Maintain Assets department ensures the reliable operation of the site, buildings, and technical facilities at the Roche site in Basel/Kaiseraugst. The focus is on the sustainable management and maintenance of the infrastructure to ensure that production and operational processes run smoothly.
As part of the Construction Site Services team, you will work in a well-coordinated team of approximately 12 to 15 specialists. You will act as a central interface between internal project teams, local engineering, plant operators, and external construction companies. In this role, you will be responsible for the coordination, organization, and supervision of construction sites in a pharmaceutical environment.
The position is designed for the long term and serves to build specific site and service knowledge at the Kaiseraugst location. With successful performance and good integration into the team, there is an option for extension and, in perspective, a possible transfer to a permanent position within 2 to 3 years.
Your Tasks
In this role, you will assume operational responsibility for construction sites and technical trades in the areas of plant construction, pipeline installation, and utility engineering.
Your main tasks include:
- Planning, organization, management, and coordination of construction sites
- Supervision and coordination of external specialist and third-party companies' employees
- Ensuring quality control in pipeline construction, utility engineering, and cross-trade disciplines
- Coordination of reporting with local engineering
- Implementation and monitoring of construction site safety according to internal guidelines
- Accompanying commissioning and coordinating defect rectification with executing companies
- Ensuring the handover of completed trades to local engineering or the plant operator
- Providing technical input for trade-specific planning, e.g., regarding materials, manufacturers, and execution
- Support with scheduling and construction progress during the construction phase
- Review and evaluation of offers, specifications, and target price quotations
- Obtaining offers from suppliers and executing companies
- Participation in the awarding of contracts to external service providers and companies
- Review and examination of as-built documentation
- Ensuring the required quality and documentation standards in a GMP-regulated environment
Your Profile
We are looking for an experienced, assertive, and service-oriented professional with sound experience in construction site management, plant construction, or technical project execution.
You ideally bring the following qualifications:
- Completed technical vocational training, ideally as a plant and apparatus builder, pipeline builder, building services technician, or in a comparable technical profession
- Further training as a master craftsman, technician, or a similar qualification is an advantage
- At least 5 to 10 years of professional experience in project management of pipeline installations, utility engineering, or technical plants
- Experience in the coordination and management of construction sites
- Good knowledge in the areas of pipeline construction, process engineering installations, utility systems, and technical trades
- Basic knowledge of the GMP environment
- Knowledge of construction site and occupational safety, e.g., SiGeKo, safety assistant, or comparable, is an advantage
- Good user knowledge of Google Suite and MS Office
- SAP knowledge and process engineering understanding are desirable
- Very good German language skills, both written and spoken
- English and French language skills are an advantage
Additional Knowledge is an Advantage
- Basic knowledge of fire protection
- Experience with ventilation systems or corresponding technical courses
- Knowledge of construction site logistics
- Basic understanding of plant automation and automation systems
- Good knowledge of utility installations, pipe classes, and technical standards
- Experience with Roche documentation, Elvis, SAP, or technical workstations is an advantage
