Requirements

• Essential construction industry experience is a must, along with a thorough knowledge of job costing principles.
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is required
• A minimum of 3 years of project accounting experience within the construction industry (required)
• Strong understanding of job costing, cost accounting, and project financial cycles
• Familiarity with AIA billing formats and construction billing processes
• CPA certification is advantageous
• Excellent analytical and communication skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and construction accounting software (such as Viewpoint, Sage, Procore, or similar)
• Able to handle multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a dynamic environment

Responsibilities

• Oversee project accounting for multiple construction projects at once
• Conduct detailed job costing, cost tracking, and variance analysis
• Manage project setup, including budgets, cost codes, and contracts
• Prepare monthly AIA billing and facilitate all project billing processes
• Assist in formulating and updating project budgets and forecasts
• Collaborate closely with project managers to ensure financial reporting is both timely and accurate
• Review and reconcile project expenses, subcontractor invoices, and change orders
• Support month-end closing activities related to project finances
• Provide necessary documentation and analysis for both internal and external audits
• Ensure compliance with accounting policies, project controls, and contract stipulations
