Chemours is seeking a Construction Project Manager to join our Capital Execution and CoE team. This role directly reports to the Construction Engineering Manager and involves leading large, complex capital projects across Chemours sites globally, significantly impacting our operational future and enhancing our commitment to safety, quality, and innovation.
The Construction Project Manager will act as Chemours' construction leader, ensuring successful execution across dimensions of safety, cost, productivity, schedule, and quality. You will collaborate with diverse project teams and travel frequently to various Chemours locations to facilitate seamless execution.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide strategic and technical input during Front End Loading and Detailed Design, including:
- Developing and managing the Safety Plan.
- Ensuring implementation of MI-QA plans, with qualifications and validation checks.
- Participating in Engineering and Design Development Reviews.
- Creating a comprehensive Contracting Strategy and managing Contractor Performance.
- Leading Constructability Analysis and Optimization with innovative construction technologies.
- Input on Construction schedules and budget validation.
- Advising on material and equipment selection to balance business objectives and cost.
- Leading construction planning and progress tracking, incorporating LEAN construction concepts.
- Executing site assessments to support continuous improvement efforts.
- Oversee field construction efforts, which includes:
- Identifying, onboarding, and managing on-site resources.
- Conducting safety and quality plan audits.
- Coordinating all construction phases and maintaining integrated project schedules.
- Auditing contractor performance against established criteria.
- Providing timely updates to project teams and stakeholders on job status.
- Ensuring material availability and timely delivery to maintain productivity.
- Documenting and approving field construction changes.
- Supporting planning and execution of commissioning and start-up efforts.
- Competency Development:
- Providing training to Chemours and Contractor resources in specialized areas.
- Defining and implementing continuous improvement strategies.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- 8+ years of construction management experience in industrial projects, progressing from craft roles to leadership.
- Extensive knowledge of capital project processes.
- Proven ability to lead large capital construction projects.
- Experience managing contractors and field execution.
- Strong planning skills with contingency foresight.
- Ability to conduct constructability analyses.
- Knowledge of best practices in safety, cost control, quality assurance, and scheduling.
- Willingness to travel up to 50% to project sites nationally and potentially internationally.
Preferred Skills
- Management of large (> $10M) capital projects in chemical plants.
- Proven ability to lead and motivate teams and contractors.
- Ability to align diverse parties towards common objectives in field execution.
- Ability to review estimates, developing plans and schedules accordingly.
- Insight into project change order procedures and contracting processes.
- Experience with LEAN methodologies and scheduling tools (e.g., Primavera).
- Prominent understanding of construction safety and environmental procedures.
- Strong networking, negotiation, planning, and teamwork skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools.

Pay Range: $134,400.00 - $210,000.00
Annual Bonus Target: 16%
