Our client is seeking a highly competent and experienced Construction Site Manager to oversee all aspects of construction projects at George, Western Cape, ZA. This hands-on role is critical to ensuring projects are completed safely, on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing site operations, supervising construction crews, coordinating subcontractors, and ensuring compliance with all building codes, safety regulations, and project specifications. You will be the primary point of contact on-site, liaising with engineers, architects, clients, and local authorities. A strong understanding of construction methodologies, project management principles, and leadership skills is essential. This position requires a dedicated individual committed to delivering exceptional results in a demanding site environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Direct and manage all on-site construction activities, ensuring adherence to project plans, schedules, and specifications.
• Supervise and coordinate the work of all site personnel, including direct employees and subcontractors.
• Develop and implement site-specific safety plans, ensuring compliance with all health and safety regulations.
• Conduct regular site inspections to monitor progress, quality of work, and identify potential issues.
• Manage site logistics, including material procurement, equipment allocation, and waste management.
• Prepare and submit regular progress reports to project management and stakeholders.
• Liaise with architects, engineers, clients, and regulatory bodies to resolve site-specific issues and obtain necessary approvals.
• Ensure all work is performed in accordance with building codes, permits, and environmental regulations.
• Manage the site budget, track expenses, and identify opportunities for cost savings.
• Maintain accurate site records, including daily logs, incident reports, and completion certificates.
• Promote a positive and productive working environment on site.

Qualifications

• National Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum of 8 years of experience in the construction industry, with at least 4 years in a site management or supervisory role.
• Proven experience managing residential, commercial, or industrial construction projects.
• Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, building codes, and safety regulations.
• Excellent leadership, team management, and communication skills.
• Proficiency in project management software (e.g., MS Project, Procore) and basic computer skills.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and construction documents.
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
• Valid driver's license and willingness to be based on-site in George, Western Cape, ZA.
• First Aid and safety certifications are advantageous.
