Job Description
As part of our development, we are supporting our major retail clients on their cloud transformation projects.
Your Role: SRE (Site Reliability Engineer) Consultant – GCP Environment
As an SRE, you will be involved in the entire lifecycle of platforms and will be responsible for their reliability, availability, and performance.
Your Detailed Missions:
Reliability & System Performance
- Ensure high availability of critical applications (SLA/SLO)
- Define and monitor performance indicators (SLI)
- Identify bottlenecks and propose optimizations (latency, throughput, scalability)
- Implement capacity planning and auto-scaling strategies
Automation & Industrialization
- Automate recurring operational tasks (run) via scripting (Python, Bash)
- Implement robust and secure CI/CD pipelines
- Deploy and maintain infrastructures via Infrastructure as Code (Terraform)
- Participate in environment standardization (templates, reusable modules)
GCP Cloud Expertise
- Design, deploy, and maintain architectures on Google Cloud Platform
- Administer Kubernetes environments (GKE)
- Optimize the use of GCP services (compute, storage, networking)
- Ensure cost management (FinOps / budget optimization)
Monitoring & Observability
- Implement and improve monitoring, logging, and tracing tools
- Configure relevant alerts and reduce noise (alert fatigue)
- Operate tools like Cloud Monitoring, Prometheus, Grafana
- Implement business and technical-oriented dashboards
Incident Management & Continuous Improvement
- Participate in on-call duties and production incident management
- Conduct post-incident analyses (post-mortem, RCA)
- Implement action plans to prevent recurrence
- Define and improve operational processes (runbooks, playbooks)
Security & Compliance
- Integrate cloud security best practices (IAM, access management, secrets)
- Participate in audits and environment compliance
- Ensure resilience against security incidents
Collaboration & DevOps Culture
- Work closely with Dev, Ops, and Cloud Architect teams
- Support teams in adopting SRE / DevOps practices
- Participate in Agile rituals (daily, sprint, retrospective)
- Document architectures and technical processes
Technical Environment:
- Cloud: GCP (Google Cloud Platform)
- Containerization: Kubernetes (GKE), Docker
- IaC: Terraform
- CI/CD: GitLab CI, Jenkins or equivalent
- Monitoring: Prometheus, Grafana, Cloud Monitoring (Stackdriver)
- Scripting: Python, Bash
Qualifications
Profile Sought:
- Master's degree or engineering degree in computer science
- Minimum 7 years of experience in production / cloud / SRE / DevOps
- Solid experience on GCP
- Good understanding of distributed environments and cloud architectures
- Ability to work in an international environment (English communication)
