THE CHAMBER OF COMMERCE FOR GREATER PHILADELPHIA

Philadelphia · Hybrid Full-time Mid Level $60k – $65k/yr 2d ago

About the role

The Chamber of Commerce for Greater Philadelphia (The Chamber) brings area businesses and civic leaders together to amplify the impact of business in the region, advocate for a competitive business climate and grow a vibrant and diverse business community in order to achieve our vision: The Greater Philadelphia Region is a top global destination for business and a leader in inclusive growth.

The Opportunity

As part of the in-house Marketing & Creative Services team, the Content & Digital Manager will lead the development and execution of the Chamber’s digital content strategy across web, social, email, and multimedia platforms. Reporting to the VP of Marketing, this role plays a central part in elevating the Chamber’s digital presence, growing audience engagement, and ensuring all content consistently reflects the organization’s brand, voice, and strategic priorities.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Lead content strategy and management across the Chamber’s social media platforms, including editorial calendar, content production, and performance analysis.
  • Manage social community engagement — monitoring comments, responding to audience interactions, and maintaining a consistent brand voice across channels.
  • Own and maintain the Chamber’s website content, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and timely publication across all sections.
  • Develop and execute an integrated content strategy across web, social, and email that drives organic traffic growth, improves on-site engagement, and advances organizational goals.
  • Manage the Chamber’s email marketing program, including member newsletters, event promotions, and campaign-driven sends; oversee list management and performance tracking.
  • Translate web analytics and direct-traffic data into actionable strategy recommendations; serve as the team’s primary owner of digital performance reporting.
  • Lead SEO efforts including keyword research, metadata optimization, and on-page content strategy.
  • Manage Google Ads and social media advertising campaigns, including budget oversight, targeting strategy, and performance reporting.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with programs and events teams to ensure integrated, mission-aligned content.
  • As needed, provide additional support to broader marketing and communication efforts, including Chamber events and initiatives.

Job Specifications & Requirements

  • At least six years of experience working full-time in a content strategy or digital marketing role.
  • Demonstrated expertise in digital content strategy, with a proven track record of growing organic traffic and social media engagement.
  • Experience working in a social media management tool such as Sprout Social.
  • Experience managing email marketing programs, including platforms such as Salesforce Marketing Cloud, Constant Contact, or similar; familiarity with list segmentation, journey building, and performance metrics.
  • Experience with Salesforce CRM; comfort connecting audience data to content and campaign strategy is a plus.
  • Strong command of web analytics tools (e.g., Google Analytics, Search Console) and the ability to interpret performance data to drive strategy.
  • Expertise in SEO best practices, including keyword research, metadata optimization, and on-page strategy.
  • Hands-on experience managing Google Ads and paid social campaigns, including budget management and performance analysis.
  • Proficiency with content management systems (CMS) such as WordPress.
  • Exceptional writing, editing, and storytelling skills with the ability to adapt voice and tone across audiences and platforms.
  • Experience synthesizing complex or unfamiliar subject matter into clear, compelling content.
  • Strong project management skills; experience with platforms such as Asana preferred.
  • Proficiencies in Microsoft 365, including Outlook, Word, Excel, SharePoint, and Teams.

Working Style

  • Client-focused with a collaborative approach to content development.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize effectively.
  • Strategic thinker with an innate curiosity and a bias toward data-informed decision-making.
  • A self-starter who can work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail and the ability to meet deadlines under pressure.

Working at the Chamber

Working at the Chamber offers the best of both worlds—the resources and stability of a mid-sized business, paired with the purpose-driven mission of a nonprofit. As a key player in the region’s business community, the Chamber provides team members with access to a wide network of connections, professional development opportunities, and meaningful work that drives regional impact. With a team of about 65 employees, we’re large enough to offer strong support and infrastructure, yet small enough to provide opportunities to lead, grow, and make your mark. We foster a fast-paced, collaborative environment and offer competitive compensation along with an outstanding benefits package.

Work Conditions

The Chamber operates in a hybrid work environment that allows for a flexible schedule while requiring employees to work in-person at least two days per week. Exceptions to this schedule may be made based on departmental needs. When on-site, work is performed in a professional, deadline-driven office setting with regular interaction with Chamber colleagues, members, and investors.

This role involves extended periods of sitting at a desk, working on a computer, and speaking on the phone. The individual will also be required to attend Chamber-hosted or partner events and meetings outside of regular business hours and outside of Center City Philadelphia.

Compensation

The salary range for this position is $60,000 - $65,000 annually, plus the opportunity to earn additional performance-based incentives for personal and team-based performance.

Qualified candidates should submit a cover letter and resume. Applications that fail to fulfill this requirement will not be considered.
