What you'll own
As the Content Lead, you will transform Koinly’s content into a scalable growth and trust engine, acting as both a visionary strategist and a rigorous editor-in-chief.
Editorial strategy & roadmap
- Define and execute Koinly’s editorial agenda: Translate business goals into a high-impact roadmap covering SEO, product-led content, and thought leadership.
- Establish content pillars: Prioritize initiatives across the blog, website, YouTube, and social channels to ensure a balance of evergreen educational guides and high-conversion assets.
- Lead integrated storytelling: Collaborate cross-functionally with Product Marketing, Partnerships, and Customer Support to ensure a unified narrative across the entire user journey.
Editorial excellence & production
- Act as Editor-in-Chief: Enforce a high bar for quality, setting the "Gold Standard" for crypto-tax content through rigorous editing and brand-voice alignment.
- Develop domain authority: Partner with tax experts and accountants to ensure every piece of content is technically accurate, authoritative, and simplifies complex regulations.
- Manage end-to-end production: Oversee the lifecycle of content from brief to publication, including the creation of industry reports, comparison pages, and data-backed case studies.
- Maintain the Content Playbook: Own and iterate on style guides, tone-of-voice documentation, and editorial standards to ensure consistency across all contributors.
Growth, ops & leadership
- Manage and scale the content engine: Lead the content team and a network of freelancers/agencies; define roles, manage SLAs, and mentor team members.
- Drive measurable performance: Own organic visibility, SEO rankings, and assisted conversion metrics. Track and analyze performance to iterate on what drives the most business impact.
- Optimize distribution and repurposing: Develop systematic plans to syndicate and repurpose major assets across social, email, and PR channels.
- Refine content operations: Build and manage efficient workflows, editorial calendars, and publishing pipelines to ensure a consistent and predictable output.
- Expand channel footprint: Identify and launch new formats (e.g., podcasts, Reddit community content, or guest contributions) to increase brand reach within the crypto ecosystem.
This role is a fit if…
You'e an Editor-in-Chief who thrives at the intersection of editorial excellence, SEO science, and product-led growth. You've a natural radar for quality and can spot a misaligned brand voice from a mile away. You enjoy the "puzzle" of translating complex technical topics (like crypto tax and regulation) into clear, high-trust narratives that convert. On top of that, you're a leader of people; you take pride in mentoring writers into strategists and building operational systems that allow a content team to scale without losing its soul.
The must-haves
- 8+ years of experience in content strategy and editorial leadership, specifically within B2B or B2C SaaS (fintech experience is a significant advantage).
- Editorial excellence: A portfolio that demonstrates "Gold Standard" quality: flawless C2/Native English, a sharp eye for tone of voice, and the ability to edit technical drafts into compelling stories.
- SEO as a second language: Deep expertise in keyword research, intent mapping, and executing content strategies that move the needle on organic rankings and traffic.
- Proven leadership: Experience managing and scaling a mix of in-house talent and freelance contributors. You know how to set SLAs, give constructive feedback, and build a high-performing culture.
- Operational rigor: You don’t just "publish"; you build frameworks. You are comfortable designing workflows, content calendars, and distribution systems.
- Data-informed mindset: You are comfortable with analytics tools and can translate raw performance data into a strategic "what’s next" for the roadmap.
Bonus Points (nice-to-haves)
- Crypto/Tax Native: You already understand the crypto ecosystem or have experience in a highly regulated space like tax or finance.
- Multi-format mastery: Experience leading video strategy (YouTube/Shorts), webinars, or podcasts.
- Technical SEO: Knowledge of site migrations, schema, or core web vitals.
- Multilingual: Fluency in French or German, or experience managing localization programs.
Probably not a fit if you:
- Are primarily a writer looking to move into strategy for the first time. We need an established leader who has already owned a roadmap.
- Prefer a highly structured corporate environment with reliance on thorough guidance and direction.
- View SEO as "keyword stuffing" rather than a holistic user-experience and growth framework.
- Are uncomfortable with the technical or "dry" nature of tax and compliance content.
- Prefer working in a vacuum; this role requires heavy collaboration with Product, Customer Support, and Partnerships.
- No prior experience in B2B or B2C SaaS.
Success outcomes: your first 90 days
The first 45 Days: foundation & alignment
In your first six weeks, success is defined by your ability to diagnose the current state of Koinly’s content engine and establish the "Gold Standard" for future output.
- Immersion & subject matter expertise: Complete product and compliance training to navigate the nuances of crypto tax; identify the key pain points of our personas.
- Comprehensive content & talent audit: Perform a "state of the union" on all existing assets (Web, Blog, YouTube, PR) and team capabilities to identify gaps in quality, SEO, and conversion logic.
- Editorial north star: Launch a unified Content Playbook that defines our brand voice, editorial standards, and quality-control workflows for all internal and external contributors.
- Operational quick wins: Identify and launch one high-impact content experiment (e.g., a new distribution tactic or a high-intent comparison page) to validate ROI early.
- Cross-functional sync: Establish recurring feedback loops with Product Marketing, Support, and Partnerships to ensure the content roadmap serves the entire business.
The 90-day vision
By the end of your first quarter, you will have moved from auditing to scaling. You will own a predictable, data-backed content machine where every piece of content -from a technical tax guide to a good-performing social thread- serves a specific purpose in Koinly’s growth engine.
