Take your analytical skills to the next level as a Financial Analyst for the Town of Innisfil. This role, lasting 17 months, focuses on budget processes and financial reporting. You will play a crucial role in the Financial Services Team by managing budgets, assisting with audits, and providing insightful financial analysis. Collaborating closely with the Treasurer and other supervisors ensures effective financial strategies that align with community needs and corporate goals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in preparing and managing the Town’s budgets
- Prepare consolidated financial statements and supporting documents
- Oversee reconciliations and journal entries in accounting
- Maintain accurate records of asset and fixed asset ledgers
- Monitor budget performance and recommend improvements
Requirements:
- University degree in a related field
- Professional accounting designation is an asset
- 3-5 years in accounting/finance, ideally in municipal context
- Willingness to work outside standard hours when needed
- Strong understanding of financial reporting practices
