Senior Salesforce Consultant

About the role

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Salesforce Consultant to join a leading insurance company in Gauteng on a 12-month contract basis. You will lead the design, configuration, and delivery of Salesforce solutions that drive operational efficiency, customer engagement, and regulatory compliance across the business. Working closely with business stakeholders, technical architects, and delivery teams, you will be instrumental in shaping the Salesforce roadmap and ensuring best-practice implementation across the insurance value chain.

Key responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end Salesforce implementation and configuration across Sales Cloud, Service Cloud, and Financial Services Cloud
• Gather and translate complex business requirements from insurance stakeholders into scalable Salesforce solutions
• Design and deliver custom workflows, automation (Flow, Process Builder), and integrations with core insurance systems
• Provide technical leadership and mentoring to junior Salesforce team members
• Manage and prioritise the Salesforce backlog in collaboration with business owners and project managers
• Conduct solution design workshops, sprint reviews, and stakeholder presentations
• Ensure compliance with data governance, POPIA, and insurance regulatory requirements within the Salesforce environment
• Oversee data migration, quality assurance, UAT, and go-live support
• Maintain up-to-date documentation of solution architecture, configuration decisions, and processes

Required experience & qualifications

• Minimum 6+ years of hands-on Salesforce consulting or implementation experience
• Proven delivery experience in the insurance, financial services, or banking sector
• Strong expertise in Salesforce Financial Services Cloud, Sales Cloud, and/or Service Cloud
• Salesforce Certified Administrator and at least one additional certification (e.g. Platform App Builder, Sales Cloud Consultant, Service Cloud Consultant)
• Deep knowledge of Salesforce automation tools: Flow, Apex triggers, and Lightning components
• Experience with system integrations using REST/SOAP APIs and middleware platforms
• Solid understanding of Agile/Scrum delivery methodologies
• Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills at all organisational levels

Advantageous

• Experience with MuleSoft, Boomi, or other integration platforms
• Exposure to Salesforce Marketing Cloud or Experience Cloud
• Familiarity with short-term or long-term insurance products and policy administration systems
• POPIA compliance implementation experience within Salesforce
• South African insurance industry knowledge (FSCA regulatory landscape)
