About the role

Overview

We’re hiring a Contract SRE Engineer to support a large-scale, cloud-first environment with a strong focus on Microsoft Azure, automation, and platform reliability. This role will focus on building and maintaining highly automated, resilient systems that reduce manual effort and improve system performance and uptime.

This is a hands-on engineering role (not purely architectural), working closely with platform, cloud, and application teams in a fast-paced environment.

Must-Have Skills (Core Requirements)

  • Strong experience in Site Reliability Engineering / DevOps / Platform Engineering
  • Deep hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure
  • Solid scripting/programming (Python, PowerShell, or similar)
  • Experience building automation-first environments (runbooks, workflows, event-driven automation)
  • Strong understanding of:
    • Monitoring, alerting, and observability
    • Incident response & production support
  • Experience with:
    • CI/CD pipelines
    • Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, ARM, or Bicep)
  • Ability to work in production environments and troubleshoot live issues

Key Responsibilities

  • Build and enhance automation for incident response, remediation, and platform operations
  • Improve system reliability, scalability, and performance across Azure environments
  • Design and support monitoring and observability solutions (logs, metrics, traces)
  • Reduce manual operational work (toil) through automation
  • Partner with engineering teams to improve deployment pipelines and system resilience
  • Support on-call rotation and production issue resolution
