We are a small yet experienced team of AppSec and DevSecOps professionals, embarking on an ambitious mission. We are seeking a proactive Technical Writer to help us effectively communicate our platform's value to customers and partners.

The Role

As a Technical Writer, you will be responsible for establishing and developing BlueFlag's documentation program from the ground up. You will create customer-facing documentation for our platform, covering features and integrations such as setup guides, API documentation, and product walkthroughs. Additionally, you will support the development of internal enablement materials for various teams including Product, Engineering, and Customer Success.

This position starts as a contract role with the opportunity to transition to a full-time position as the company evolves.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain clear, accurate, and user-friendly documentation for BlueFlag's platform and modules.
  • Create diverse content including setup guides, integration documentation, release notes, and feature explanations.
  • Collaborate closely with Product, Engineering, Customer Success, and Product Marketing teams to distill technical details into informative documentation.
  • Establish a scalable documentation structure and a style guide that aligns with BlueFlag's brand voice.
  • Utilize Atlassian tools like Confluence and Jira to manage documentation with a focus on reusability and version control.
  • Contribute to internal enablement materials such as onboarding guides and customer success documentation.
  • Continuously refine content based on product updates and customer feedback.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience as a technical writer for SaaS or cybersecurity products.
  • Solid understanding of SDLC/DevOps tools and processes.
  • Ability to collaborate directly with engineers and product teams to gather and verify technical information.
  • Exceptional writing and editing skills with an aptitude for simplifying complex topics for diverse audiences.
  • Experience using Atlassian tools such as Confluence and Jira.
  • Self-starter with a passion for building structure and processes in a startup setting.
  • Bonus: Experience documenting APIs, SDKs, or integrations with tools like GitHub, GitLab, or Jenkins.
