Controller (Director of General Accounting)

About the Opportunity

Legacy Career Solutions is partnering with a global, privately held organization in the hospitality and travel industry to identify a Controller (Director of General Accounting).

This is a hands-on leadership role responsible for overseeing accounting operations in a complex, multi-entity, international environment. The company is currently undergoing an ERP implementation and is seeking a strong accounting leader to help stabilize processes, improve reporting, and support the accounting team.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead accounting operations including general ledger, accounts payable, payroll, and cash management
• Manage and improve month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes
• Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting in accordance with GAAP
• Support ERP implementation (Microsoft Business Central)
• Oversee global payroll across multiple countries
• Strengthen internal controls and accounting procedures
• Partner with leadership on financial reporting and process improvements
• Lead, mentor, and develop accounting staff

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required (CPA strongly preferred)
• 10+ years of progressive accounting experience
• Experience as a Controller, Accounting Manager, or Senior Manager
• Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting
• Experience in multi-entity and/or international accounting environments
• Experience with ERP systems (Microsoft Dynamics, Business Central, or similar)
• Advanced Excel skills
• Strong attention to detail and ability to analyze and interpret data

Preferred Experience

• Hospitality, travel, or service-based industry experience
• Experience with international payroll or multi-country operations
• Experience supporting ERP implementations or system upgrades
