About the role

Overview:

We are seeking both entry-level and mid-level (Level II) Controls Engineers to join a growing engineering team focused on designing, programming, and supporting automated industrial equipment. This role plays a key part in developing control systems, supporting manufacturing operations, and ensuring reliable performance of machinery in a fast-paced production environment.

This is an excellent opportunity for engineers early in their careers as well as those with a few years of hands-on controls experience looking to grow.

Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and troubleshoot control systems for automated equipment
  • Program and modify PLCs, HMIs, and motion control systems
  • Integrate electrical components such as sensors, motors, and actuators into machine systems
  • Support system testing, debugging, and commissioning of equipment
  • Collaborate with mechanical and electrical engineering teams to ensure system performance
  • Diagnose and resolve issues in production and field environments
  • Maintain documentation including schematics, code, and system specifications
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives related to automation and controls

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related field
  • 1+ years of experience in controls engineering (internships and co-ops acceptable for entry-level candidates)
  • Experience or exposure to PLC programming (Allen Bradley, Siemens, or similar platforms)
  • Familiarity with HMI development and industrial automation systems
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and system diagrams
  • Hands-on experience or knowledge of sensors, actuators, motors, and control panels
  • Understanding of industrial communication protocols such as EtherNet/IP, Modbus, or serial communication
  • Experience with motion control, VFDs, or servo systems is a plus
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills in a manufacturing or equipment environment
  • Ability to support system testing, debugging, and commissioning activities
  • Comfortable working cross-functionally with mechanical and electrical engineering teams
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work in a hands-on, fast-paced environment
