An exciting opportunity for a motivated and analytically minded Actuarial Analyst to join a high-performing Corporate Actuarial team within a leading short-term insurance environment. This role offers strong exposure to actuarial reporting, technical provisions, and IFRS 17, with excellent opportunities for professional growth.

A well-established insurance organisation operating in the short-term insurance market is looking to appoint an Actuarial Analyst within its Corporate Actuarial function. The team plays a key role in financial and regulatory reporting, actuarial analysis, and continuous improvement of actuarial models and processes.

The successful candidate will work closely with actuarial, finance, capital, and audit stakeholders, contributing to accurate reporting, model development, and forward-looking actuarial initiatives in a collaborative and evolving environment.

Responsibilities

  • Support the calculation and analysis of Technical Provisions for financial reporting
  • Prepare, review, and analyse IFRS 17 actuarial inputs
  • Assist in the development, testing, and maintenance of IFRS 17 models, processes, and controls
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure accurate and compliant actuarial reporting
  • Contribute to improvements in actuarial methodologies and reporting frameworks
  • Drive process improvement, digitisation, and automation initiatives
  • Research and apply actuarial and accounting standards to specialised insurance products

Requirements

Education

  • Degree in Actuarial Science with strong academic performance
  • Nearly or newly qualified actuary (ASSA or equivalent) and member of a recognised actuarial body

Experience

  • 3+ years’ experience, preferably within the short-term insurance industry
  • Strong experience in reserving and/or actuarial reporting
  • General insurance background advantageous
  • Exposure to IFRS 17 / IFRS beneficial but not essential
  • Project-based experience advantageous

Skills

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Solid understanding of actuarial processes within an insurance environment
  • Programming or data skills (e.g. VBA, R, Python) advantageous
  • Innovative mindset with a focus on efficiency and automation
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Self-motivated, curious, and comfortable working in a collaborative team environment
