Duties & Responsibilities
Leadership & Team Development
- Lead and manage a team of Credit Analysts, ensuring high-quality output and optimized performance
- Foster a culture of continuous learning through coaching, upskilling, and onboarding support for new starters
- Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams including Front Office, Legal, Compliance, and broader Credit divisions
Credit Application Preparation & Review
- Oversee and prepare high-quality credit applications, ensuring seamless presentations to senior management committees
- Conduct in-depth analysis of financial statements, market dynamics, and client creditworthiness
- Ensure all applications align with internal credit policies, regulatory requirements, and risk frameworks
Deal Origination & Evaluation
- Participate in pre-deal discussions to shape deal structuring and provide effective credit solutions
- Manage deal flow, resource allocation, and turnaround times to drive operational efficiency
- Support analysts on complex presentations, ensuring accuracy and high-quality delivery
Risk & Compliance
- Maintain strong awareness of the broader credit environment and apply sector insights to decision-making
- Manage post-approval processes by liaising with Legal and Compliance to ensure correct sanction documentation
Stakeholder & Relationship Management
- Build collaborative internal relationships to support operational success
- From time to time accompany Portfolio Managers on client visits to understand business operations and risk drivers
Ad‑hoc Projects
- Support the Credit Manager with data clean‑up and other special initiatives
Skills & Experience
- Minimum 3–5 years’ experience in credit risk management within the commercial or corporate environment
- Strong analytical ability with deep understanding of financial statements and credit ratios
- Familiarity with the National Credit Act
- Strong financial and business acumen
Qualification
- BCom degree (Finance / Accounting)
- Postgraduate qualification or professional certifications (CA, CFA, CIMA, MBA) advantageous

Package & Remuneration
- R 660 000 – R 720 000 – Annually
Requirements
