Position Overview
Join Cooley's innovative Marketing team as a dynamic Corporate Practice Group Marketing Manager. This pivotal role focuses on leading market analyses, fostering client development, and driving strategic business planning for our Corporate & Emerging Companies/Venture Capital (ECVC) practice. Position Summary: As the Corporate Practice Group Marketing Manager, you will be instrumental in enhancing our market presence and achieving business objectives through insightful analyses and targeted strategies.
Key Responsibilities
• Conduct thorough market analyses to pinpoint opportunities within the corporate and ECVC domains.
• Research competitive positioning, evaluating competitors through their activities in thought leadership, events, news, and rankings.
• Perform business intelligence analyses to develop a deep understanding of regional clientele and prospects.
• Establish yourself as the marketing expert for the assigned market segment.
• Create a systematic approach for identifying and targeting new business opportunities for the corporate and ECVC practice.
• Work closely with the competitive intelligence team to set targeting criteria, provide insights, and recommend targets while managing subsequent lawyer engagements.
• Advise lawyers on new business opportunities derived from regional initiatives and provide guidance on our strategic approach and supporting materials.
• Collaborate with regional corporate leaders and partners to formulate and execute strategic marketing plans and budgets that align with global objectives.
• Proactively oversee the implementation of strategic plans, facilitating discussions, reports, analyses, and updates.
• Build strong partnerships with relevant associations and industry organizations for networking and lead generation.
• Develop an event strategy rooted in market analysis to bolster business goals.
• Assist in organizing seminars, sponsorships, and other events; track and report their effectiveness.
• Collaborate with the PR team to enhance our profile-raising efforts.
• Facilitate participation in regional surveys and professional accolades.
• Support the seamless integration of lateral attorneys into the practices.
• Maintain an outreach activity calendar to maximize ROI from engagements.
• Coordinate with global marketing colleagues to optimize collaboration and drive results.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
• Availability to work extended hours and travel as necessary.
• Experience Required: 5+ years of related marketing experience.
Preferred Qualifications
• Education: Bachelor's degree in marketing or a related field.
• Qualifications: Experience within a law firm or professional services environment.
• Qualifications: Able to effectively navigate a matrixed environment.
Benefits & Perks
• Salary: $140,000 - $170,000, depending on geographic location and candidate experience.
