Position Overview
The Corporate Technical & Equipment Manager is responsible for leading and supporting maintenance, equipment reliability, and technical troubleshooting initiatives across multiple manufacturing facilities.
This role serves as a key corporate technical leader focused on improving equipment uptime, maintenance execution, reliability systems, and operational performance. The ideal candidate is highly hands-on, technically strong, and capable of driving maintenance standardization and reliability improvements across heavy industrial manufacturing environments.
This role requires regular travel to manufacturing facilities and close collaboration with operations, engineering, production, quality, and executive leadership teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and support maintenance and reliability teams across multiple manufacturing plants
- Evaluate and resolve complex technical issues involving critical industrial equipment and production systems
- Develop and standardize:
- Preventive Maintenance (PM) programs
- Predictive Maintenance (PDM) systems
- Reliability-Centered Maintenance (RCM) strategies
- Identify and manage Single Point of Failure (SPOF) risks and implement mitigation plans
- Drive initiatives focused on:
- Equipment uptime improvement
- MTBF improvement
- MTTR reduction
- Downtime elimination
- Lead and ensure proper Root Cause Analysis (RCA) execution and corrective action implementation
- Oversee:
- Maintenance planning
- Shutdown/outage activities
- Critical spare parts management
- Inventory optimization strategies
- Support CAPEX projects including:
- Equipment installations
- FAT/SAT activities
- Commissioning and startup support
- Establish maintenance KPIs and ensure continuous tracking and reporting across facilities
- Mentor and develop:
- Maintenance engineers
- Maintenance planners
- Supervisors and technicians
- Coordinate closely with production, engineering, quality, purchasing, and corporate leadership teams
- Ensure compliance with:
- OSHA and NFPA standards
- LOTO procedures
- Corporate maintenance and safety standards
- Drive maintenance standardization and best-practice sharing across all manufacturing locations
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in:
- Mechanical Engineering
- Electrical Engineering
- Mechatronics Engineering
- Or related technical field
- Minimum 15 years of industrial maintenance experience
- Minimum 5 years managing maintenance departments or multi-site maintenance teams
- Strong experience within:
- Heavy manufacturing
- Industrial production
- Continuous-process environments
- Strong troubleshooting and technical problem-solving capabilities involving industrial systems and equipment
- Proven experience leading reliability and uptime improvement initiatives
Technical Knowledge & Skills
- CMMS implementation, optimization, and administration:
- Eptura
- SAP PM
- Maximo
- Or equivalent systems
- Preventive, Predictive, and Reliability-Centered Maintenance methodologies
- Condition monitoring technologies including:
- Vibration analysis
- Thermography
- Oil analysis
- Ultrasonic inspection
- Industrial systems knowledge including:
- Motors and drives
- PLCs and instrumentation
- Hydraulics and pneumatics
- Vacuum systems
- Industrial heating systems
- Spare parts strategy and inventory optimization

- Reliability metrics and analytics:
- MTBF

- Downtime analysis

Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in:
- Transformer manufacturing
- Heavy industrial manufacturing
- Continuous-process manufacturing
- Multi-site maintenance leadership experience
- Experience standardizing maintenance systems and procedures across plants
- Bilingual English/Spanish preferred
