About the role
Job Cost & Project Accounting
- Track and monitor project costs (labor, materials, subcontractors) by job
- Maintain accurate job cost reports and analyze budget vs. actuals
- Partner with project managers to review project financial performance
Billing & Revenue Recognition
- Prepare and process AIA billing applications
- Support percent complete billing and revenue recognition calculations
- Ensure timely and accurate invoicing in accordance with contract terms
- Track and reconcile billings, including over/under billings
WIP & Financial Reporting
- Prepare and maintain Work-in-Progress (WIP) schedules
- Assist with monthly close, including job cost accruals and journal entries
- Reconcile project sub-ledgers to the general ledger
Certified Payroll & Compliance
- Assist with certified payroll reporting in compliance with prevailing wage requirements
- Ensure payroll and project data align with federal/state contract requirements
- Maintain proper documentation for audits and compliance reviews
General Accounting Support
- Review and code invoices to appropriate jobs and cost codes
- Support AP/AR functions related to projects
- Assist with internal and external audits as needed
Requirements
- 3+ years of Project Accounting experience within construction industry
- Job Costing experience highly preferred
