About

Responsible for supporting the cost accounting processes of the company, to include month-end journal entries, maintenance of standard costs, inventory reconciliation, production of periodic financial reports, and adherence to internal controls.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare month-end journal entries in compliance with critical reporting deadlines
  • Audit, review, and maintain bill of materials and standard costing in Oracle
  • Reconcile inventory in general ledger against the sub-ledgers
  • Compile purchase price variance report to support supply chain and procurement departments
  • Run reports and analyze manufacturing efficiency, volume, mix and budget variances
  • Adhere to all appropriate financial policies such as GAAP and SOX
  • Participate in continuous improvement activities (i.e., Kaizen events) to support cost reduction initiatives

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance
  • 1 year manufacturing cost accounting experience
  • Knowledge and application of basic accounting procedures and cost accounting processes
  • Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Ability to function at a high level of effectiveness, flexibility, independence and initiative without daily interaction with management
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to interact with all levels of the organization
  • Excellent problem-solving, analytical skills and attention to detail
  • Demonstrated successful ability to build positive partnerships and work collaboratively with cross-functional business teams

Preferred Qualifications

  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA)
  • Certified Management Accountant (CMA)
  • Experience with ODBCs, SQL and Visual Basic
  • AS400 query experience
  • Prior ERP experience (Oracle, SAP)
