Cost Accountant

Job Summary

Our client, a leading manufacturing organization, is seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Cost Accountant to join their finance team. This role will be responsible for managing cost accounting functions including inventory valuation, cost of goods sold analysis, variance analysis, and standard cost maintenance. The ideal candidate will play a key role in supporting operational efficiency, cost control, and financial accuracy.

Key Responsibilities

• Analyze and report on manufacturing costs, including labor, material, and overhead variances
• Develop and maintain standard cost systems for raw materials, WIP, and finished goods
• Perform monthly inventory analysis and reconciliation, and support physical inventory counts
• Prepare detailed cost analysis and margin reports for management decision-making
• Partner with production, engineering, and supply chain teams to identify cost-saving opportunities
• Monitor and analyze inventory transactions for accuracy and compliance
• Support monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes related to cost accounting
• Assist in budget and forecast preparation with cost and production inputs
• Ensure adherence to internal controls and company accounting policies
• Provide support for audits and ensure documentation of all cost-related procedures

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
• 3+ years of experience in cost accounting within a manufacturing environment
• Strong understanding of standard costing, inventory valuation, and GAAP principles
• Proficient in ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics) and Excel
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills
• Strong attention to detail and ability to meet tight deadlines
• CPA or CMA certification a plus

Work Model

Hybrid with 1-2 days work from home per week.

Compensation

$45-$60/hr W2 hourly
