Country Accountant

About the Role

We are hiring an experienced accounting professional (individual or firm) to take full ownership of accounting, payroll, tax, and compliance for our French operations. This role requires strong familiarity with French regulations and the ability to independently manage all statutory requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Own bookkeeping, journal entries, and account reconciliations
• Prepare financial statements in line with PCG
• Manage payroll end-to-end including salaries, social contributions, and filings
• Ensure compliance with payroll-related regulations and reporting requirements
• Handle VAT declarations, corporate tax filings, and statutory compliance
• Ensure compliance with all local accounting and legal requirements
• Coordinate with external accountants, auditors, and advisors
• Ensure all filings and deadlines are met without delays
• Provide regular financial updates and insights to management

Requirements

• 5–10+ years of accounting experience in France
• Strong knowledge of French GAAP, tax regulations, and payroll compliance
• Experience independently managing accounting, payroll, and compliance for an entity
• Familiarity with tools such as Sage, Cegid, SAP, or similar
• Fluent in French and English
• Strong ownership and accountability

Nice to Have

• DEC / DSCG or equivalent certification
• Experience working in multinational environments
