Country Manager

A leading international logistics and mining support organization is seeking a high-caliber Country Manager to oversee their comprehensive operations at a remote mine site in the DRC. This is a senior management role designed for a strategic leader who is equally comfortable in the boardroom and being "hands-on" within the operational environment.

The successful candidate will take full accountability for the country’s performance, managing a diverse portfolio that includes clearing, logistics, workshop management, and finance.

The Role & Opportunity:

• Strategic Leadership: Manage and supervise multi-disciplinary teams across Finance, HSE, Clearing, and Workshop departments.
• Operational Excellence: Oversee fleet and equipment maintenance plans to ensure a minimum of 90% availability, while managing daily job allocations and workflows.
• Financial Stewardship: Take full ownership of the P&L and balance sheet, ensuring strict adherence to group financial procedures, tax compliance, and robust monthly reporting.
• Business Growth: Identify and develop new business streams, including equipment handling and clearing opportunities, backed by in-depth financial modeling and forecasting.
• Process Optimization: Drive continuous improvement initiatives to streamline operations, reduce costs, and enhance overall financial performance.

Requirements:

• Experience: A minimum of 10 years of relevant experience, ideally within the logistics or mining sectors.
• Regional Exposure: Proven experience operating within the DRC or similar high-pressure, remote environments.
• Language Skills: Full professional fluency in both French and English is essential.
• Technical Proficiency: Strong financial modeling skills and analytical ability; knowledge of SAP or SAGE ERP systems is highly advantageous.

Contract Details:

• Type: Permanent.
• Location: Primary duty station is a mine site in the DRC.
• Structure: A 9-week on / 3-week off rotation schedule.
