About Our Client
Our client is a fast-growing, technology-led organisation operating at the intersection of energy and digital innovation, delivering proprietary IoT-enabled solutions for monitoring, optimisation, and control of energy consumption. Their products support businesses in reducing waste, lowering costs, and accelerating sustainability efforts.
Currently expanding, they are looking for an experienced, hands-on Country Manager to build and lead their presence in Frankfurt, Munich or the Essen areas in Germany.

Responsibilities
- Design and execute a market entry and growth strategy for Germany, taking into account regulatory requirements (GEG, EnEfG, BEG), competitive dynamics, and regional market specifications
- Identify high-value segments and use cases for IoT and Cast across the Mittelstand industry, commercial real estate, public sector, and Stadtwerke/energy services
- Monitor federal and state funding programmes (BEG, KfW, BAFA), public procurement pipelines, and policy developments to identify commercial opportunities
- Track competitor activity and market trends to maintain a strong and differentiated market position
- Own the full sales cycle — from lead generation and prospecting through negotiation to signed contracts
- Build and manage a growing pipeline with disciplined forecasting and transparent reporting
- Reach revenue targets and contribute directly to the company’s international expansion
- Develop pricing strategies appropriate for the German market while protecting margins
- Build relationships with key decision-makers — industrial operators, facility managers, Stadtwerke executives, energy consultants, and technology integrators
- Develop strategic partnerships with local engineering firms, energy consultancies, Planungsbüros, or system integrators to accelerate market access
- Engage with industry associations to build visibility and credibility (e.g., DENA, BDEW, IHK, Chambers of Commerce)
- Represent the company at German and European energy conferences, trade fairs (e.g., E-world, Hannover Messe), and business forums
- Build local operational capabilities as the market develops, including hiring engineers and project specialists or managing subcontractors
- Collaborate closely with product, marketing, and technical teams to ensure German market insights inform product development
- Manage the local P&L and report directly to senior leadership with clear, data-driven updates
Candidate Profile for Country Manager
- Must be fluent in German and English, both written and spoken
- Strong understanding of Germany’s energy landscape — regulations (GEG, EnEfG, BEG), key players, funding mechanisms, and procurement processes
- Familiarity with German public procurement processes and how to navigate them effectively is considered an advantage
- Proven track record in B2B sales and business development within the energy sector in Germany or the DACH region
- Experience managing the full sales cycle for technical or consultative solutions
- Experience with IoT platforms, energy management systems, SCADA, smart metering, or energy technology solutions is an advantage
- Prior experience in a country-level or general management role is a plus
- Background in ESCO models, energy audits, energy performance contracting, or Energieberatung is preferred
- Direct experience with German federal or state funding programmes (KfW, BAFA, BEG) — either as a beneficiary, consultant, or service provider is preferred
- An established network in Germany’s energy industry — utilities, Stadtwerke, industrial consumers, energy service companies, or public administration is a plus
- Demonstrated ability to develop a new market or significantly grow revenue in an existing one
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills, comfortable engaging with C-level executives, Mittelstand owners, and public-sector decision-makers alike
- Self-directed and results-oriented
- Willingness to travel within Germany and to the company headquarters
