CPA / Controller (In-Office Only)

About the role

We are hiring a hands-on CPA to take ownership of accounting and elevate financial operations internally.

We already work with an external CPA firm for tax compliance — this role will own financial accuracy, oversight, and execution inside the business.

This is for a CPA who wants to operate, not just advise.

Responsibilities:

Financial Ownership

• Lead monthly close (target: day 10–12)
• Own financial statements and reporting accuracy
• Ensure clean, audit-ready books at all times
• Establish processes and internal controls

Inventory & Margin Control

• Own inventory accounting and reconciliation
• Maintain accurate COGS and landed cost calculations
• Analyze margins by SKU, customer, and channel
• Identify and correct financial leakage

Tax & CPA Oversight

• Coordinate with external CPA firm
• Review business tax returns (1120-S)
• Support tax planning execution
• Ensure no year-end surprises

Finance Leadership

• Improve cash flow visibility
• Support business decision-making with financial insight
• Build scalable accounting processes

Requirements

• Active CPA license
• 7+ years of accounting experience
• Experience in inventory-based or wholesale business
• Proven ownership of month-end close and financials
• Strong accrual accounting background
