You will be joining a small, elite team of engineers and researchers — alumni of Google, Meta, Apple, Amazon, and other top-tier technology companies. We operate with the speed and ambition of a startup, backed by the rigour of a world-class investment fund

We are a fundamental research-driven hedge fund with $2 billion in assets under management, investing in developed markets across a broad range of industries, with a strong focus on Semiconductors, Metals & Mining, and Energy. Our investment strategy is rooted in a data-driven, top-down and bottom-up approach, allowing us to construct comprehensive sector models and identify long-term trends. We primarily invest in equities while enhancing risk-return profiles through options trading on equities and commodity futures.

Our goal is to achieve positive absolute returns. We have consistently outperformed the S&P since inception, and we aim to maintain this outperformance over the long term.

To further advance our competitive edge, we aim to scale our well-proven fundamental research algorithms by integrating advanced IT tools. This will allow us to increase the scope and speed of processing both public and commercially sourced information.

Responsibilities

• Strategic Leadership: Define and execute the fund’s technology roadmap to enhance research capabilities and optimize investment strategies.
• Team Building: Recruit, mentor, and manage a high-performing IT team, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and efficiency.
• Technology Development: Oversee the development of sector models, data pipelines, and the integration of machine learning algorithms into our research framework.
• AI/ML Strategy: Lead efforts to process unstructured data (text, audio, and video) and train custom LLMs that replicate and refine our research methodologies.
• Infrastructure Management: Ensure the scalability, security, and performance of all technological systems and tools.
• Collaboration: Work closely with equity and sector analysts to translate their expertise into digital solutions that enhance the fund's investment process.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a CTO, technical lead, or similar role in a data-intensive industry, preferably in finance or quantitative research.
• Expertise in building and managing data architectures, including large-scale structured and unstructured data processing.
• Strong knowledge of machine learning and AI technologies, with hands-on experience in deploying AI models in real-world applications.
• Familiarity with hedge fund operations, equity analysis, or sector modeling is highly desirable.
• Demonstrated ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and deliver projects on time and within budget.
• Excellent problem-solving skills, strategic thinking, and a collaborative approach.

Conditions

• Location: on-site in Zurich, Switzerland.
• Relocation: support is available.
• Salary: €80,000 net / month + equity (€1,000,000 net / year + equity).
