Role and Responsibilities
As an Customer Account Executive, you will focus on growing new business and maintaining existing accounts using a consultative, customer-oriented approach. You will manage a portfolio of accounts, identify upselling opportunities, and build strong customer relationships to ensure lasting satisfaction and aligned goals.
- Assume responsibility as the primary contact for managing customer accounts within your portfolio.
- Develop and nurture enduring customer bonds through consistent follow-up and a commitment to service excellence.
- Employ consultative selling techniques to align WM products and services with customer needs and compliance requirements.
- Maximize profitability by negotiating, updating, and renewing customer service agreements, while educating customers on contract details.
- Collaborate with the Inside Sales Manager to resolve complex customer issues effectively.
- Demonstrate strong knowledge of rates, fees, and service strategies while incorporating customer rewards and accommodations according to company policies.
- Identify and cultivate sales leads in your area and refer internal opportunities to other WM divisions as appropriate.
- Use Salesforce and pricing software accurately and consistently to manage account data and improve sales productivity.
- Prepare documentation and perform general office duties as needed.
Required Skills and Experience
- Valid high school diploma or accredited GED qualification.
- One year of experience in waste management or five years of proficient business-to-business account management.
- Ability to handle customer cancellation requests efficiently.
- Proficiency in building and maintaining professional relationships.
- Strong goal-setting, time management, and organizational skills.
- Effective communication and negotiation skills with high impact.
- Proficient computer skills.
- Solid financial understanding.
Preferred Qualifications
- Skilled in driving growth by acquiring new business and retaining existing accounts in B2B sales environments.
- Proactive in cold calling and identifying new business opportunities.
