Equinix is recruiting a Customer Operations & Critical Facilities Datacenter Engineer Apprentice for one of our sites based in the Paris region (Courbevoie, Saint-Denis, Pantin, Aubervilliers, Meudon).

As a Customer Operations & Critical Facilities Datacenter Engineer Apprentice, your main mission will be to bring to life the contracts signed by the sales force with Equinix clients, through the management of their physical installation in the Datacenter.

You will also need to operate, manage, perform repair and maintenance tasks on our Datacenter infrastructure. Ensure the monitoring of maintenance providers, HVAC systems, UPS and non-critical power systems, fire fighting devices, cooling fluid and fuel management, cold production, and provide support to suppliers for everything related to it. All power structures from the high-voltage station to the end of the chain to customer server power supplies are our responsibility. In addition, you will be at the heart of energy efficiency and sustainable development projects with the aim of improving our PUE and reducing our energy consumption to minimize our environmental impact as much as possible.

Main Tasks / Responsibilities

Customer Support and Installations

  • Process all customer support requests transmitted by the Service Desk
  • Contribute to maintaining optimal airflow conditions in customer rooms
  • Propose improvements for urbanization, cabling organization, or any component of installed customer configurations

Operation, Maintenance, and Service Continuity

  • Perform daily technical checks and diagnostics of infrastructure equipment
  • Perform preventive maintenance of equipment
  • Perform electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic lockouts
  • Ensure the implementation and supervision of external companies, verifying their qualifications, methods, and tools
  • Participate in repair and corrective maintenance operations
  • Detect malfunctions, develop a diagnosis
  • Write intervention reports to ensure operational follow-up (CMMS)
  • Understand and apply control and test rules and procedures
  • Propose and implement technical and energy improvements
  • Best respond to the energy challenges of our buildings, propose improvement solutions, and participate in the numerous energy efficiency and sustainable development projects of our sites.
