About the role
Position Summary
The Customs Compliance and Logistics Administrator is responsible for the following:
- Working with Customs Brokers, U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP), Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA), and other governmental agencies to maintain, implement and coordinate import compliance activities under Title 19 of the CFR and CBSA regulations, including audits, classifications, Preferential Duty Treatment Programs, recordkeeping, and SOPs.

- International and domestic freight-related activities
- Reporting
The Customs Compliance Administrator will also train, teach, and provide technical knowledge and guidance to associates as a Subject Matter Expert.
Responsibilities:
- Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders, such as suppliers, carriers, brokers, CBP, and CBSA, to ensure the company’s trade operations comply and to resolve any issues or discrepancies.
- Assess and obtain Preferential Duty Treatment information and documents (USMCA, USJTA, GSP).
- Track and maintain Customs Power or Attorney, Customs Bonds, and CBSA Container Bank Program.
- Provide various reports to support Compliance and Management, including:
- ACE Import Entry Reports
- Broker Reports
- Post Entry Correction Reports Freight Reports
- Develop and implement policies and procedures to comply with the C-PAT requirements and standards, such as conducting risk assessments, performing security audits, and maintaining documentation.
- Monitor and report on the performance and effectiveness of the C-PAT program, using metrics and indicators, and identify areas for improvement or corrective actions.
- Provide training and guidance to the company’s staff and partners on the C-PAT program and its benefits, such as expedited customs clearance, reduced inspections, and lower costs.
- Stay updated on the latest developments and changes in the C-PAT program and the relevant trade regulations and best practices.
- Work with Corporate Compliance and internal stakeholders to provide export compliance support.
- Work with Corporate Logistics, 3PL, carriers, and PPC personnel to provide international and domestic freight support, including budget activities and expense abnormalities, and review, analyze, and process freight payments.
Job Requirements
- A bachelor’s degree in business administration, international trade, law, or a related field.
- A minimum of 3 years of experience in trade compliance, customs brokerage, or supply chain management, preferably in a C-PAT-certified company or industry.
- Licensed Customs Broker preferred.
- Thorough knowledge and experience with the C-PAT program, and certification or accreditation with a Brokers Association, the International Compliance Professionals Association (ICPA), or the American Association of Exporters and Importers (AAEI) preferred.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills, with attention to detail and accuracy.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse teams and stakeholders.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, ERP Software, and other relevant software tools.
