About the Role

BAE Systems, one of the world’s largest defense contractors, is seeking a highly experienced Cyber Analyst to join our team at our chemical manufacturing facility in Radford, VA. As a Principal Cyber Analyst, you will be responsible for operating network security tools on Operational Technologies (OT) network, providing timely reporting and remediation of identified threats, and ensuring the security of our operations. You will also play a key role in developing and maintaining cybersecurity policies, procedures, and documentation to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards.

Responsibilities

  • Assess, configure, and operate network security tools to detect and respond to threats in a Security Operations Center (SOC) environment
  • Provide Computer Network Defense (CND) of the Operations/Controls network, ensuring compliance with DFARS 252.204-7012, NIST SP 800-171, NIST SP 800-82, and NIST SP 800-53
  • Collaborate with cybersecurity professionals to analyze security events, develop incident response plans, and implement mitigation recommendations
  • Deliver technical security expertise in the operations and maintenance of an Operations CND system
  • Develop, maintain, and update documentation for cybersecurity policies, procedures, and standards
  • Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to create and implement cybersecurity policies and procedures

Required Education, Experience, & Skills

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Engineering or related discipline with 6+ years’ relevant experience in Cyber Assurance, Cyber Engineering, Cyber Analysis, Threat Hunting, or Forensic Analysis, or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Experience implementing system security requirements and controls in accordance with DFARS 252.204-7012, NIST SP 800-171, NIST SP 800-82, and NIST SP 800-53
  • Demonstrated experience tracking logs and analytics for cyber security in a SOC environment (please list this experience on your resume or cover letter)
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills with strong interpersonal skills
  • One of the following certifications must be held:
    • EC‑Council Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH)
    • CompTIA Cybersecurity Analyst (CySA+)
    • CompTIA Security+
    • Cisco Certified Network Associate‑Security (CCNA‑Security)
    • CompTIA Network+
    • ISA/IEC Cybersecurity Expert

Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills

  • SOC experience with enterprise audit aggregation, logging, and analysis tools (e.g., Cisco CyberVision, Security Onion, Tenable OT, Splunk)
  • Working knowledge and practical experience of Risk Management Framework or NIST Cybersecurity Framework
  • Manufacturing/Industry OT network experience
  • Windows/Linux administration or Group Policy/PAM experience

Pay Information

Full‑Time Salary Range: $102,200 – $173,700

Note: This range is based on market pay structures. Individual salaries are determined by factors such as business considerations, local market conditions, internal equity, and candidate qualifications (skills, education, experience).
