About the role
Overview
The Cybersecurity Engineer is responsible for guaranteeing the security and regulatory conformity aspects in the design, assimilation, execution, alteration, and organization of the deployment, evaluation, operation, and disposal of hardware and software frameworks. Responsibilities may entail analyzing situations, establishing operational and technical needs and blueprints, record-keeping, overseeing the operational effectiveness, maintenance, and recovery capabilities of established technology security setups, deploying cybersecurity measures and utilities, upholding system configurations, administering the implementation and amalgamation of system patches, updates, and improvements, and confirming the stringent enforcement of data security and information assurance protocols, doctrines, and methodologies.
Responsibilities
- Ensuring the protection of information systems by recognizing both potential and existing security issues.
- Safeguards the system through the establishment of access rights, control frameworks, and assets allocation.
- Identifies issues through the recognition of irregularities, reporting of infractions, and addressing weaknesses.
- Enhances security measures through an examination of the existing circumstances, analyzing patterns, and forecasting potential needs.
- Identifying security breaches and operational inefficiencies through routine audit processes.
- Enhance systems by incorporating and upholding security measures.
- Perform regular system evaluations and security audits, compiling performance summaries, and sharing updates on system status.
- Upholds high standards of service in accordance with organizational guidelines.
- Assist in the creation, upholding, and execution of security measures and guidelines
- Executes additional tasks as required.
Qualifications
Education
- Required: Bachelor's Degree and/or equivalent experience (10 years experience in IT with 5 years in IT Security is needed for equivalent experience)
Experience
- Required: 4 years
Licensure/Certification/Registry/Listing
- Required: Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP)
