Job Summary
As a member of the Cybersecurity organization, the Cybersecurity Specialist will design, develop, and deliver programs to educate employees on cybersecurity threats, including monthly phishing simulations. Building a strong security culture, the successful candidate will work to reduce human‑related risks and ensure compliance using simulations, metrics and communications to make learning engaging and effective. Travel to sites to promote cybersecurity and engage with staff will be required.
The specialist will develop, implement, and continuously refine a comprehensive enterprise‑wide cybersecurity awareness and training program. This includes creating, maintaining, and regularly updating a diverse range of training materials such as interactive online training modules (e‑learning), instructional videos, job aids, quick reference guides, and presentations. Materials must be engaging, accessible, and tailored to various audiences—from general employees to specialized technical staff and executive leadership.
Key duties include:
- Creating training content and running phishing simulations.
- Analyzing metrics, managing awareness campaigns, and partnering with business units to tailor training to specific risks and roles.
- Establishing metrics to track completion rates, measure effectiveness, and report on the overall impact on reducing human‑related security risks.
- Creating engaging communications and monthly newsletters.
- Developing, promoting, and executing comprehensive cybersecurity awareness and training programs, including regular communication campaigns, interactive workshops, and mandatory annual training modules.
- Tracking participation, assessing program effectiveness through metrics and simulated attacks, and continuously updating materials to address evolving security risks and regulatory requirements.
Essential Functions
- Lead efforts to support and optimize the operational functions of Cybersecurity solutions to protect critical systems and data.
- Work with leadership to build support strategies, frameworks, policies, and standard operating procedures.
- Provide Level IV support across Cybersecurity functions, making strategic recommendations to improve the organization’s security posture.
- Serve as an operational subject matter expert (SME) across multiple security solutions.
- Collaborate with various Cybersecurity teams, IT, and Facilities to drive improvements to operational processes and ensure security measures align with organizational standards.
- Mentor junior team members and provide technical guidance to enhance team capabilities.
- Lead efforts to solve complex Cybersecurity problems, performing in‑depth root cause analysis and recommending advanced solutions.
- Prioritize and resolve high‑complexity incidents, often under tight deadlines.
- Lead the creation of solution metrics, ensuring alignment with long‑term Cybersecurity strategies.
- Provide expert‑level 24 × 7 support for critical engineering and incident response efforts.
- Demonstrate leadership in managing and resolving complex challenges, fostering collaboration, and driving innovation.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, or related field (preferred).
- 5–8 years of progressive experience in security operations or incident response.
- Experience with large‑scale incident response, GRC programs, or red/blue team initiatives.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Exceptional ability to design and implement operational processes for the most complex security solutions with minimal oversight.
- Advanced‑level skills in identifying, troubleshooting, and resolving highly complex issues, with the ability to create long‑term solutions that align with business objectives.
- Advanced knowledge of security principles, techniques, and implementations across multiple Cybersecurity domains with ability to lead operational initiatives.
- Exceptional ability to lead strategic initiatives, guide multifunctional teams through the systems development lifecycle, and ensure successful execution of enterprise‑scale projects.
- Advanced written and verbal communication skills to translate complex technical concepts clearly for diverse audiences and influence decision‑making across all organizational levels.
Licenses and Certifications
- Industry certifications (e.g., OSCP, GIAC, CISSP) highly preferred.
