Role Overview
Cybersecurity Compliance Specialist – You will play a crucial role in guiding government clients through the complex process of obtaining and maintaining authorization to operate (ATO) for their information systems.
Responsibilities
- Leveraging your deep understanding of government cybersecurity standards to monitor, analyze, and proactively address potential security incidents and threats.
- Ensuring compliance with rigorous security requirements necessary for ATO certifications while adhering to specific governmental cybersecurity regulations. Collaborate with clients to evaluate their system architectures and security needs to achieve and uphold ATO status.
- Conducting in‑depth security assessments and risk analyses tailored to the compliance of government systems, identifying vulnerabilities and potential threats.
- Diligently monitoring security systems, logs, and network traffic to pinpoint suspicious activities or unauthorized access attempts.
- Working alongside diverse teams to develop and maintain security measures tailored to government needs, including firewalls, intrusion detection, data encryption, and access control systems. Investigate security incidents to determine their causes and implement appropriate response strategies.
- Developing and executing incident response plans that encompass containment, eradication, and recovery processes.
Requirements
- A minimum of 7 years of experience as a cybersecurity analyst with a focus on government system ATO support, demonstrating strong expertise in ATO principles, methodologies, and tools.
- Proven experience with government regulatory frameworks and compliance standards related to ATO, such as NIST SP 800‑53, RMF, ICD 503, FISMA, and FedRAMP.
- A track record of achieving and maintaining ATO for cloud services and solutions ranging from IL5 to IL6+ across diverse information networks.
- A comprehensive understanding of network protocols, operating systems, and infrastructure components.
- Strong skills in incident response processes, security incident management, and forensic analysis techniques.
- Familiarity with ATO assessment tools, vulnerability scanning tools, and intrusion detection/prevention systems specific to government frameworks.
- CISSP or an equivalent certification compliant with DoD 8140 requirements.
Preferred Qualifications
- Exemplary communication skills, enabling you to convey complex technical concepts effectively to both technical and non‑technical audiences.
Security Clearance
- An active TS/SCI with polygraph clearance is required.
Compensation
- Base salary range: approximately $147,300 to $182,900 USD.
- Compensation may vary based on factors such as office location, specific role responsibilities, skill set, and level of experience.
