Cybersecurity Specialist

Sabre Systems is currently looking for a Cybersecurity Specialist to support our Navy customer at Patuxent River Naval Air Station. The selected candidate will perform vulnerability and risk management for the program, ensuring all relevant notifications pertaining to cybersecurity are implemented in the proper equipment/systems.

Responsibilities

• Support proactive and iterative searches through network to detect and isolate advance threat(s)
• Provide support for system information assurance program through security assessment and authorization activities in compliance with Risk Management Framework (RMF)
• Use available tools and resources to mitigate cyber threat(s) using both automated and manual processes
• Interface with customers/personnel to deliver timely and effective services
• Ensure that new or updated systems support required cybersecurity infrastructure and are adequately approved, validated, and accepted by the customer for successful delivery and operations
• Monitor, assess and report system security vulnerabilities, document corrective actions, and implement preventative actions to minimize the security vulnerabilities
• Identify and analyze emergent cybersecurity technologies and systems engineering methods to improve the system’s cybersecurity posture
• Perform testing of all upgrades to ensure cybersecurity compliance prior to installation of new equipment or software
• Engage in special projects and other duties as assigned
• Perform Security Impact Assessments on build, integration, and test events to identify and document and impacts to cybersecurity posture
• All other duties and tasks assigned

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant technical discipline; or At least five years (5) or more year(s) experience in technical IT and cybersecurity or related field
• Working knowledge of Windows and Linux Operating Systems
• Experience in understanding the core principles in the field of information and systems security.
• Experience designing and operating enterprise security controls
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills including the ability to articulate complex issues to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
• Proven ability to be flexible and hardworking, both independently and in a fast paced team environment, with changing priorities
• Job may require up to 20% travel.
• Ability and motivation to learn new skills in an evolving information security landscape

Must have a Top Secret clearance with the ability to obtain SCI eligibility. Due to the sensitivity of customer related requirements, U.S. Citizenship is required.

DoD 8570 IAT Level I and/or Level II

Compensation Statement

At Sabre Systems, LLC, compensation is based on factors such as location, qualifications, experience, and contract-specific requirements; however, final compensation will be determined by individual qualifications and applicable contract terms. The general salary range for this position is as follows $80,000.00 - $125,000.00
