Our client, a global leader in information security solutions, is seeking a highly skilled and vigilant Cybersecurity Threat Analyst to join their remote-first security operations center. This role is critical in protecting our client's digital assets and infrastructure from evolving cyber threats. As a remote employee, you will be responsible for monitoring security alerts, analyzing potential threats, investigating security incidents, and developing strategies to mitigate risks. You will work with cutting-edge security tools and technologies to detect, analyze, and respond to a wide range of cyberattacks, including malware, phishing, and advanced persistent threats. Your expertise will be vital in interpreting complex security data, identifying patterns of malicious activity, and providing timely and actionable intelligence to incident response teams. The ideal candidate possesses a strong understanding of network security, operating systems, and common attack vectors. You will contribute to the continuous improvement of our client's security posture by developing new detection rules, refining existing processes, and staying current with the latest threat intelligence. This position requires a meticulous approach, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to remain calm and effective under pressure. You will be part of a collaborative team of security professionals, sharing knowledge and best practices to enhance collective defense capabilities. The ability to conduct forensic analysis and understand the root causes of security breaches will be highly valued. Proactive threat hunting and vulnerability assessment will also form part of your remit, ensuring a robust defense-in-depth strategy. Key Responsibilities: Monitor security systems and analyze alerts for potential threats. Investigate security incidents and perform root cause analysis. Analyze threat intelligence and develop mitigation strategies. Identify and respond to various cyber threats, including malware and phishing attacks. Develop and tune security detection rules and alerts. Conduct vulnerability assessments and penetration testing. Create incident reports and provide recommendations for improvement. Collaborate with incident response teams and IT security personnel. Stay up-to-date with the latest cybersecurity trends and attack vectors. Contribute to the development of security policies and procedures. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Information Technology, or a related field. Minimum of 5 years of experience in cybersecurity operations or threat analysis. Proven experience with SIEM tools, IDS/IPS, firewalls, and endpoint security solutions. Strong understanding of networking protocols, operating systems, and common attack techniques. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a remote team. Relevant certifications such as CompTIA Security+, CEH, GIAC, or CISSP are highly desirable. Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., Python, PowerShell) is a plus. Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English. This role is based in **Uyo, Akwa Ibom, NG** but is fully remote.
