Job Description

We are looking for a Data Analyst for the food laboratories in the Netherlands who connects data, finance, and operations, and establishes a reliable data foundation for steering profitability and operational performance. In a complex environment with multiple laboratories and scattered data sources, you will bring data together, structure it, and translate it into clear, usable insights that contribute to better, data-driven decision-making.

Your Role

In this role, you work from concrete research questions and are responsible for the entire data and analysis process: from unlocking and structuring data to developing data models and performing in-depth analyses. You work closely with finance, operations, and management, thereby having a direct impact on the organization's performance.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Developing data models for profitability, cost structures, and operational performance
  • Structuring, cleaning, and improving financial data (including general ledger, cost centers, and allocations)
  • Unlocking and linking data from ERP, LIMS, and financial systems
  • Setting up, managing, and optimizing data in a data platform (such as Microsoft Fabric)
  • Building and maintaining data pipelines, including ensuring data quality and consistency
  • Analyzing margins, price-volume effects, customer mix, throughput, and variance
  • Supporting Lean Six Sigma projects with data-driven insights (lead times, bottlenecks, and variation)
  • Translating business questions into an analytical approach with clear, action-oriented recommendations
  • Standardizing KPIs and data definitions

Your role goes beyond reporting: you create the data architecture on which improvements are realized and deliver insights that directly contribute to decisions regarding margins, cost control, and process optimization.

Our Offer

A role with a lot of autonomy, responsibility, and room for personal growth within a professional, ambitious, and informal work environment where collaboration and innovation are central.

What else can you expect from this role and from Normec Foodcare:

  • A contract for a fixed term with a view to a permanent contract
  • A 32-40 hour work week
  • A salary between €5,000 and €6,200 gross per month (based on 40 hours), depending on experience and knowledge
  • A hybrid work model: after a thorough onboarding period, you work 1-2 days a week from home and the other days at the office
  • 25 vacation days for a full-time employment plus 8% holiday pay
  • A good pension scheme
  • Continuous development programs to further develop your talents
  • Access to our Online Academy with over 800 free courses, tailored to your interests
  • Participation in a bicycle plan
  • Collective health insurance via VGZ
  • An active staff association that organizes various activities throughout the year

Your Profile

You are an analytically strong Data Analyst with a solid technical foundation and a strong sense of business context. You know how to translate data into structured models and usable insights that contribute to better decision-making within finance and operations. Additionally, you work independently and are capable of setting up and managing complex data structures.

You bring:

  • A completed Bachelor's or Master's degree in IT, Data Science, Computer Science, or Business Administration
  • Demonstrable experience in data analysis
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience as a data analyst
  • Strong SQL skills and experience with data modeling (e.g., fact and dimension models)
  • Experience with data platforms such as Microsoft Fabric, Azure, or similar environments
  • Analytical ability and the capacity to independently set up robust data structures
  • Affinity with finance (such as margins and cost structures) and operations (processes, flow, and optimization)
  • Experience with process analysis and/or Lean Six Sigma (preferred)
  • Experience within a complex, multi-site organization (preferred)
  • Proficiency in Dutch and English
