Position Overview

Morgan Stanley, a leading global financial services firm, is seeking a Fraud Analytics and Data Science professional to join the Fraud Operations team under the Technology & Operations Risk division. In this role, you will work across all fraud channels to deliver data‑driven solutions, collaborate with cross‑functional teams, and help safeguard our clients and the firm. Key Responsibilities

  • Analyze large datasets to identify trends, detect anomalies, and support fraud department reporting requests.
  • Develop clear, actionable reports and dashboards for business leaders and stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with teams across fraud, technology, risk, and compliance to enhance data‑driven decision‑making.
  • Ensure data integrity, accuracy, and compliance with established firm and department standards.
  • Communicate complex data insights in a simple, compelling way to both technical and non‑technical audiences.

Required Qualifications

  • 2‑3 years of experience using Tableau or similar visualization tools.
  • Experience using relational databases (e.g., SQL, Hive, Impala, Hadoop) for business reporting and metrics development.
  • Experience using Python (or similar languages) to conduct analytic inquiries.
  • Ability to analyze large data sets and extract meaningful insights to answer business questions.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong analytical, critical thinking, and decision‑making skills.
  • Detail oriented with the ability and desire to work in a collaborative team environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience or knowledge in financial services and/or fraud.
  • Practical experience using statistical or general‑purpose programming languages (e.g., Python, R) to implement statistics‑based analytics.
  • Understanding of fraud and security issues within the banking and finance industry.
  • Experience with data analytics in fraud investigation, financial services, payment processing, or similar fields.

  • Salary Range: $65,000 to $120,000 per year, with eligibility for an annual discretionary incentive compensation award and participation in the relevant incentive compensation plan.
