The Coaction Data Team is looking for highly motivated and results‑driven candidates who combine strategic thinking, creativity, and technical skills to drive results at a fast‑growing, dynamic company. The intern who fills this position will have the opportunity to develop his/her technical, problem‑solving, time management, and communication skills, as well as receive exposure to various types of modern technologies, while working on real‑life, challenging assignments. Successful & high‑performing interns will have the unique opportunity to join Coaction full‑time upon graduation.

Responsibilities

  • The Data Analyst Intern will use programming/query languages such as SQL or Python, with a strong emphasis on Python programming for analyzing, cleaning and visualizing data
  • The Data Analyst Intern will be instrumental in the successful implementation and enhancement of division‑wide data reporting and management practices
  • This includes developing comprehensive reports and dashboards that support all lines of business at Coaction and initiatives as well as creating and maintaining detailed data management documentation
  • Assist with the design and development of comprehensive reports and dashboards to aid in monitoring, decision‑making, and reporting
  • Assist in the implementation of data management best practices and data governance standards across all programs
  • Collaborate with team members to ensure data practices align with regulatory standards and facilitate easy access and analysis
  • In addition to working closely with their supervisor, interns are given an opportunity to network with other members of the Analytics community and present their findings to leaders
  • Work with large structured and unstructured datasets across multiple source systems to generate insights and solve business problems

Qualifications

  • Currently a junior/rising senior pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Computer Engineering or a related field and on track to graduate in May 2027
  • Entry‑level experience with SQL, Python or SPSS experience is required
  • Foundational knowledge in statistical analysis, data modeling, and data mining techniques
  • Entry‑level experience with data visualization tools and software (e.g., Power BI, or similar)
  • Ability to interpret complex data sets and provide actionable insights
  • Strong understanding of data structures, database systems, and data analysis tools
  • Excellent problem‑solving skills and attention to detail
  • Effective organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with team members
  • Eagerness to learn and apply new techniques and tools in the field of data analysis
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team
  • Excellent written and verbal communication
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook

Note: This is not a remote position. Applicants must sit in our Morristown, NJ office and comply with our in‑office work schedule.
