Data Analyst

AltGen is looking for a skilled Data Analyst to join a renewable energy C&I company based in Gauteng. The role will focus on monitoring and analysing the performance of solar PV and BESS assets, driving data-led insights to optimise system efficiency, reliability, and overall asset value across the portfolio.

Responsibilities:

Data Reporting and Analysis

• Collect, analyse, and interpret performance data from solar assets to drive maximum generation efficiency.
• Develop and maintain detailed reports on asset performance, identifying trends, anomalies, and areas for improvement.
• Utilise data analytics to support product development and asset life management strategies.
• Provide insights and recommendations based on data analysis to optimise asset performance and reliability.

Asset Monitoring

• The continuous monitoring of solar assets to ensure optimal performance and early detection of issues.
• Implement and manage monitoring systems to track key performance indicators (KPIs) of solar installations.
• Coordinate with operations and maintenance teams to address any performance issues identified through monitoring.
• Ensure compliance with safety standards and regulatory requirements in asset monitoring activities.

Remote Assistance

• Provide remote support and troubleshooting assistance for solar installations.
• Collaborate with on-site technicians and maintenance teams to resolve issues and optimise system performance.
• Utilise remote monitoring tools to diagnose problems and recommend corrective actions.
• Maintain clear communication with all stakeholders to ensure timely and effective resolution of issues.

Product Development Support

• Work closely with product development teams to provide data-driven insights and feedback for new products and enhancements.
• Participate in the testing and validation of new technologies and products to ensure they meet performance and reliability standards.
• Contribute to the development of best practices and guidelines for asset management and product performance.

Asset Life Management

• Develop and implement strategies for asset life extension and performance optimisation.
• Conduct regular assessments of asset health and recommend maintenance or replacement actions as needed.
• Ensure accurate and up-to-date documentation of all asset-related activities and performance data.
• Coordinate with finance and operations teams to develop and manage budgets for asset management activities.

Requirements:

• Numerical Diploma or Bachelor’s qualification
• 2-3 years of experience in a Data Analysis role
• Experience with analysing energy output
