Data Analytics Engineer

Job Duties

• Design, develop, and test dashboards, reports, and visualizations to support operational and business requirements across all OIG divisions and offices.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to define analytics requirements, ensuring alignment with the OIG Annual Oversight Planning Cycle, monthly reporting, Semi-Annual Report to Congress, and other ad-hoc data requests.
• Support the standardization and automation of data pulls and reporting processes, transitioning from manual/ad-hoc activities to streamlined, automated solutions.
• Develop and execute project plans and schedules for data analytics initiatives, including defining milestones, decision points, checkpoints, and timelines.
• Conduct data integration, transformation, and validation to ensure the accuracy and reliability of dashboards and analytics outputs.
• Coordinate with the TPOC, COR, and stakeholders to review draft project plans, determine deliverables, and ensure approval of milestones and checkpoints.
• Leverage innovative data analytics tools, techniques, and commercial best practices to deliver high-quality insights and visualizations.
• Work with SMEs and technical teams to refine analytics solutions that address OIG's specific operational and strategic challenges.
• Provide updates to the COR, TPOC, and stakeholders at key milestones, and coordinate reviews, demonstrations, and user testing.
• Monitor compliance with the approved project plan and escalate any issues that may affect timelines, deliverables, or performance expectations.

Qualification (Degree, Years of Experience & Skills)

Education:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Information Systems, Statistics, or a related field required.
• Master's degree in Data Analytics, Business Intelligence, or related discipline preferred.

Experience:

• Minimum 5+ years of experience in data analytics, business intelligence, or data engineering.
• At least 3+ years of experience designing and developing dashboards, reports, and data visualizations to support operational and business requirements.
• Experience working with federal agencies or large-scale enterprise environments preferred.
