About ProxyLink
At ProxyLink, we specialize in building meaningful connections between exceptional talent and leading employers across Canada. As a trusted recruitment partner, our mission is to create impactful career matches by combining innovative hiring strategies with a personalized, people-first approach. We’re driven by the belief that investing in people today builds a stronger workforce for tomorrow.
ProxyLink is currently recruiting on behalf of a client operating in the proptech industry, where highly precise measurement data from cameras, LiDAR, and other advanced sensors is transformed into floor plans, immersive virtual tours, and spatial intelligence products. The organization maintains a centralized data lake that unifies sensor, application, and operational data, and is seeking a Data Architect to define and lead the evolution of its data ecosystem.
This is a senior, strategic role responsible for shaping the architecture, standards, and long-term vision of the company’s data platform. The successful candidate will collaborate closely with cloud platform teams, full-stack engineers, and cross-functional partners in product, machine learning, and operations. This opportunity is ideal for someone who has led large-scale data architecture initiatives and is motivated to set technical direction and establish best practices for a growing data organization.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the design and long-term strategy of the company’s data platform, including data ingestion pipelines, lakehouse architecture, schema design, and data access models.
- Evaluate and make key decisions regarding tooling, vendor selection, and build-versus-buy trade-offs.
- Establish foundational standards and best practices for schema governance, data quality, reliability, and pipeline performance that future data teams will adopt.
- Collaborate with stakeholders across the organization to onboard new data sources and ensure data is structured effectively for analytics, product development, and machine learning.
- Design, build, and maintain systems across the modern data stack, including:
- Backend development: Go and Python
- Infrastructure: PostgreSQL, AWS S3, Kafka, Terraform
- Lakehouse / Data warehouse technologies: Databricks, Snowflake, Redshift, BigQuery, or comparable platforms
- Lead architecture discussions, contribute to roadmap planning, and elevate engineering standards through design reviews and ongoing collaboration.
- Prioritize performance optimization and cost efficiency as core design principles across the data platform.
Required Qualifications
- Extensive hands-on experience designing, implementing, and operating production-grade data platforms at scale, including ownership of major architectural decisions.
- Strong expertise in modern data technologies such as streaming ingestion, lakehouse or data warehouse solutions, orchestration tools, and Infrastructure as Code.
- Proficiency in backend development using Go, Python, or similar programming languages.
- Demonstrated experience setting technical direction and influencing decision-making across teams and stakeholders.
- Strong product mindset, with the ability to translate complex business challenges into scalable technical solutions.
- Ability to thrive in an evolving environment, balancing structure with flexibility while shaping the future of the data function.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working with large-scale spatial or geometric datasets and the unique storage, schema, and latency considerations they present.
- Exposure to mobile, hardware, and web product ecosystems.
- Advanced experience with AWS and Terraform.
- Strong CI/CD and platform engineering knowledge.
ProxyLink is proud to support our client in identifying top talent for this strategic and high-impact role. Thank you for your application. We will contact you should your qualifications and experience align with the requirements of the position.
