About the Role
We are seeking an entry-level Technical Support Technician I to join a fast-paced data center environment. This role is ideal for someone with hands-on experience or strong interest in computer hardware, troubleshooting, and IT infrastructure.
You’ll work alongside experienced technicians to support critical systems, resolve technical issues, and ensure high service availability.
What You’ll Do
- Perform server rack installations and hardware setups (“rack and stack”)
- Troubleshoot and complete hardware break/fix on components such as CPU, RAM, and motherboards
- Diagnose and resolve basic network connectivity issues
- Respond to operational incidents impacting system availability
- Escalate complex technical issues to senior technicians or management as needed
- Participate in maintenance activities and change management processes
- Contribute to documentation and process improvements
What We’re Looking For
Required Qualifications
- 1+ year of experience in computer hardware troubleshooting and repair
- Basic understanding of server hardware and components
- Familiarity with networking fundamentals (IP, connectivity, etc.)
- Ability to lift up to 40 lbs (and assist with heavier team lifts)
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure
- Customer-focused mindset with good communication skills
- High school diploma or equivalent
Nice to Have
- Experience working in a data center or IT support environment
- Exposure to change management or scheduled maintenance activities
- Experience documenting technical issues or contributing to process improvements
Work Environment
- Onsite role in a data center setting
- Physically active role involving hardware handling and movement
- Collaborative team environment with regular interaction across teams
