About the role

Job Overview

We are seeking a Dedicated Data Center Hands & Feet (H&F) Support Engineer to provide onsite infrastructure support at the customer data center. This role requires close coordination with remote technical teams and the ability to perform physical-level troubleshooting and maintenance tasks efficiently.

Key Responsibilities

Hands & Feet Support (Physical Infrastructure)

  • Ensure data center safety compliance, including access control and ESD handling
  • Perform rack and stack of servers, storage, and network devices
  • Execute cable tracing, labeling, and management
  • Conduct hardware component replacements (HDD/SSD, SFPs, NICs, PSUs, fans) as per SOP
  • Perform basic physical diagnostics (LED checks, link status, port mapping)
  • Establish console connections for remote troubleshooting
  • Execute power cycles, reseating, and loopback testing under remote guidance
  • Support vendor coordination, escorting, and onsite activities
  • Manage shipment handling, RMA processing, and inventory updates

Support Coverage

  • Provide 8x5 onsite support (business hours)
  • Be available for 24x7 off-hours/on-call support when required

Competency Level – L1

Onsite Support:

  • Basic issue triage
  • Password resets and user support
  • Peripheral device setup

Hands & Feet Support:

  • Basic physical support tasks
  • Cable tracing and identification
  • Execute tasks under supervision of remote teams

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Basic understanding of data center operations and infrastructure
  • Familiarity with servers, networking equipment, and cabling
  • Ability to follow standard operating procedures (SOPs)
  • Strong communication and coordination skills
  • Willingness to work in shifts and on-call rotations
  • Prior experience in data center or IT support is a plus

Preferred Qualifications

  • Certification such as CompTIA A+, Network+, or equivalent
  • Exposure to data center environments or NOC support roles
