Data Center Senior Engineer - Electrical Design

Purpose

The purpose of the Senior Electrical Engineer role is to ensure the effective design, specification, implementation, and performance of all Electrical and ELV systems within the data centre. The role is responsible for supporting reliable, efficient, and compliant operations by overseeing system planning, coordination, technical reviews, and performance optimization throughout the project lifecycle.

Key Accountabilities

• Support the delivery of detailed design of Electrical & ELV systems whilst ensuring compliance with company design guidelines, industry and international standards, local codes, and regulations.
• Work closely with engineering and project teams to complete and review designs, technical submissions or bids, scope, budget, and schedule.
• Manage a team of engineers to deliver projects and meet tight deadlines.
• Mentor junior engineers and familiarize them with the various design standards and industry best practices including company’s design guidelines.
• Prepare concepts designs and technical analysis of design options in collaboration with engineering and project teams and perform assignments within deadlines.
• Perform detailed engineering and design & sizing calculations.
• Familiar with ETAP/AMTECH, Dialux, etc.
• Develop and review project specifications and ensure compliance with the project requirements, company design guidelines, industry and international standards, local codes, and regulations.
• Assess design risks factors and reliability issues.
• Provide subject matter expertise in Data Centre Electrical & ELV system.
• Perform Electrical system design optimization and energy efficiency.
• Conduct surveys, gap analysis, review, and assessments of existing data center sites and documentation, and develop technical reports.
• Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders under the supervision of design manager and director.
• Flexible and willing to take on multiple job roles simultaneously and meet deadlines.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering Degree holder, Master’s degree is preferred.
• 8+ years of experience in electrical & ELV systems design and engineering design, specifically in Data Center projects or similar mission‑critical facilities.
• Design experience and knowledge in Electrical design, small power CCTV, Fire Alarm, Access control, EPMS, Building Automation etc.
