Data & Edge Software Engineer (m/w/d)

Overview

As part of our international development team, you will design modern edge and data systems that ensure reliable operational information in technical infrastructure projects. You will work on real-time evaluation, interfaces, and deployments, and influence architectural decisions. Programming languages such as C++, Rust, or Go, Python for data processing, and container and CI/CD technologies will be used. We offer you further development, scope for co-design, and a collegial environment with practical learning formats.

Your Responsibilities

• Develops integration components for connecting telemetry and status data to internal systems and partners.
• Implements interfaces and protocol adapters for reliable and secure data transmission.
• Develops and optimizes algorithms for real-time evaluation and data preparation.
• Plans and supports deployments on Linux-based edge and embedded systems.
• Considers security and safety aspects in design, tests, and operation.
• Supports code reviews, technical documentation, and coordination with internal interfaces such as technology and quality.

Your Profile

• Possesses a technical degree in computer science or a related field.
• Has initial professional experience in software development or comparable internships.
• Is proficient in at least one statically typed language such as C++, Rust, or Go and writes maintainable code.
• Has very good Python skills for data processing, automation, and tooling.
• Is familiar with Linux operating tasks, logging, and monitoring.
• Has experience with containers and CI/CD workflows, such as Docker and GitLab CI.
• Is knowledgeable about relational or NoSQL databases and basic data modeling.
